Welcome to Kedron Brook Youth (KBY) Group!

Hopefully the following information will give you a taste of what it is like to be a part of KBY, and the other Christadelphian Youth Circles in the greater Brisbane area.

Our ecclesia/church consists of about 25 young people between the ages of 13 and 30 who are involved with the greater Brisbane young people’s network of about 100 or so. We are a musical bunch, who loves to use our musical gifts to praise God, especially through our Gospel Choir and Acapella Fellas groups.

Some activities we have done include:

We all enjoy the uplifting fellowship we have with one another and the strong friendships we have developed, not only among ourselves but the rest of the church body. We are one big family helping each other through the trials of life and learning of God’s word together, growing closer to him.

The aim of our youth group is not only to uplift and strengthen one another on our journey to God’s Kingdom but to also share this gift with other young people and invite them along on this journey too. We love having new faces amongst us and aim to share God’s word with those we meet in other aspects of our lives.

 

We praise God because…

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the Earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall: but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40: 28-31 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have receive from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4

We follow Christ Jesus because…

In Him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.Ephesians 3:12 Look to Jesus, the founder and perfector of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.Hebrews 12:2 For Christs love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.2 Corinthians 5:14,15

Activities

We meet for a variety of activities including a weekly Sunday morning discussion Class and a fortnightly, at home Bible Class. We also have monthly social nights and praise and worship evenings throughout the year.

L.I.G.H.T Nights

L.I.G.H.T stands for ‘Living in God’s House Together’ and is a ‘Praise and Worship Night’ which is held about 2 or 3 times a year. The night consists of music, singing, meditation, inspiration and a social coffee shop. These nights have been a great success and are an opportunity to raise money for the Christadelphian Meal-a-Day Fund, which is strongly supported by our young people.
